Bargara Bowls Club has a proud history dating back to the 1960s and during that time we have had many home grown champions who have gone on to play and win at State level.
We are a strong club with over 100 lady members and about 170 Men swelling our numbers to a little under 300. We enjoy our bowls at both the competition and social level.
Bargara Bowls Club Is located in the Sandhills Sports Club complex in Whalley St Bargara. This site has been the home of the club since the first green was opened on 26 January 1962. Until the first clubhouse was opened on 15 December 1962 a tent was used to house the all important bar, etc.
The Club has grown from these humble beginnings to a strong membership with over 300 registered bowlers. The greens are used most days of the week and the club has proven to be a popular bowls venue for both locals and visitors. Every winter our numbers grow as the “Gray Nomads” make their annual trek north. Many of our friends south of the boarder make Bargara home for the winter and enjoy the hospitality of both the Bargara Bowls Club and Sandhills Sports Club during their stay. All visitors are welcome and we look forward to meeting you on our greens and in the clubhouse.
